Farm Church is a community of people who gather together to plant, water, weed, and harvest the fruits of the land, to tend the soil of our spiritual lives, and to cultivate a love of God and care for creation in our children. We do this as we work, worship, and share a meal with each other on various farms around Austin.
Our own experiences with the land, whether walking in nature, playing in the dirt, or retreating to the wilderness, have shown us that God dwells outdoors at least as much as in a church building. Our worship is a celebration of all that God has given us, and an exploration of our connections to each other, to God, and to the land.
Our work on our partner farms is an acknowledgement of the goodness of creation and an opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves and beyond our normal routines. Our meals are shared at a common table where young and old gather in friendship to give thanks and enjoy the abundance offered to us by God.
If you’re longing for connection, looking for a new way to worship with your friends or family, and are excited about getting your hands dirty, then Farm Church might be just the thing for you.
